Made Contracting has been engaged by Westfield to design and construct numerous critical elements in our most recent CBD retail project “Sydney City”.
More specificity some of these contracts included–
- Our show piece stainless steel and Signature fritted ™ structural glass awnings to all elevations
- Supply access and install 2500m2 Alpolic composite cladding to 14 levels of 100 Market Street tower .
- The “Hero Kiosk” feature hanging light box to the food court.
- Over 3000 m2 of Alpolic Composite cladding to over 40 separate elements of the retail podium façade.
- Alpolic Stainless Steel cladding to the retail columns, void slab edges and bridge soffits.
- The glass and stainless curved and raked balustrades to the food court and sky lobby.
- The stainless and black glass balustrade to our central feature spiral staircase.
- Rectification and completion of the 3 road bridges after the original contractor failed to meet their contact requirements.
As the site Façade Manager I was heavily involve with Made Contracting during this project. Made constructed the facade prototypes for the Designers and Developers to approval and test.
The awning contract required an unusual level of – critical path project planning, design engineering, alternate engineering design, detailed shop drawing, 3D detail modelling, and sample procurement, complex document management of the approval process, quality stainless steel fabrication, and procurement of “Sentry” interlayer toughened laminate glass installed to three of the CBD’s busiest thoroughfares.
Particular strengths of Made Contracting that I observed over the last 2 years this façade has been underway.
- An ability to plan creative methods and means with regards access and lifting.
- Their designer’s proficiency with 3D Modelling software enables a seamless final product in the most complex of situations.
- A big advantage Made have is that they do it all in house which enables total control of the process.
- A well lead professional team who worked day and night to successfully and safely install a quality product.
Consequentially on behalf of Westfield I have no problem in recommending Made Contracting to any Company who requires a high quality product delivered on time given a range of exceptionally difficult circumstances.

MADE Contracting has been engaged by Lipman to design and construct various architectural metal and glass works on numerous projects spanning over the last 8 years. Those projects include Towns Place East, Macquarie University for IBT Education, Wynyard campus, University of NSW Building 4 and the 8 level, 5 star green star and 5 star ABGR 78 Waterloo Rd commercial office project located in Macquarie Park, NSW.
MADE Contracting proved themselves capable of providing innovative design solutions, engineering and certification of both design and installation, high quality and detailed shop drawings, effective document contract management, excellent turn around times for critical path items, capable of working safely and unsupervised, and most importantly consistently able to produce a high quality finished product.
Made Contracting’s consistently positive and’ can-do’ attitude is far superior to many other contractors industry-wide. It is for this reason Lipman regularly engages Made Contracting to carry out various works on complex projects. With continuous improvement in all aspects of their business, Made Contracting provide and deliver projects with great service and product.
These products include stainless steel and glass balustrades, stainless steel claddings, composite decorative claddings, Glass and steel awnings, architectural steel and glass feature staircases and architectural structural steel.
All projects were completed on time and in accordance with all contract documentation. Consequentially on behalf of Lipman I have no problem in referring Made Contracting to any company who requires a high quality product on time given any range of difficult circumstances.

This is to confirm that MADE Contracting have recently completed a trade package of glass and stainless steel balustrading works for A. W. Edwards Ply. Limited as part of the $60 million St. Vincent’s Research and Biotechnology Project in Liverpool Street, Darlinghurst.
Their trade package involved both off-site design development, prototyping and documentation as well as the on-site installation of a number of stainless steel handrails and glazed stainless steel balustrading systems including a complex stair arrangement over seven floors. The works, including design and documentation, were completed over a period of approximately 7 months between November 2007 and May 2008 and were valued in excess of $380,000.
At all times during the process I found the Made Contracting personnel to be highly professional, diligent, organised and motivated to provide the best result for our Client Group. A pleasing outcome when it has been my experience to date that these qualities can be in short supply within this particular trade.
Therefore I would not hesitate in recommending MADE Contracting to further clients and look forward to a continuing relationship with them on future projects.

Made Contracting Pty Ltd was engaged on the Westfield Kotara Redevelopment in 2006/07 to design and construct various metal work and cladding components on the project. The value of the final contract sum was in the order of $2.2 M.
The upgrade work was carried out in and around an operating shopping centre and consequentially much of the work was required to be performed out of hours.
Internal works included
- Stainless, glass and timber balustrades
- Stainless steel composite slab edges and floor channels
- Toughened laminate architectural glass screens
- Mirror finish stainless steel inter-tenancy fins to the fashion precinct
External works included
- Composite cladding to a 23m high pylon sign
- Architectural aluminium structure and composite cladding to the 12 m high barrel sign
- Curved composite cladding to the entire northern elevation. Architectural fayade work to entry ramps.
- Curved crowd loaded stainless and glass balustrade to external balcony.
The external works were performed under difficult circumstances give the limited access provided by the RTA, STA and Energy Australia.
We found MADE to be a very professional, competent and safe contractor. They were given limited periods to operate within the centre to complete various works and met the programme requirements. The quality of the finished product was of a high standard and in accordance with the approved shop drawings they submitted.
MADE Contracting have been a proven contractor who have worked on Westfield projects for a number of years. Their proactive approach to the design and construction process and multidisciplinar-Y skills ensures that they provide a valuable contribution to the successful delivery of the project.

On behalf of Penrith Panthers and ourselves, we wish to thank you for your outstanding efforts in delivering this portion of the works. The working environment created by your staff and subcontractors is excellent. The commitment demonstrated by your staff and your subcontractors under difficult working conditions coupled with the extreme heat is beyond reproach.

We engaged MADE Contracting to design and construct a composite cladding system on our project, Shire Live.
Given MADE have now completed the 500m2 Alpolic cladding to the entire project we are delighted to be able share our opinion of MADE Contracting and its employees.
Firstly, I should preface our comments by noting that the works MADE was contracted to undertake were in the most difficult category. While the finished product looks clean and simple it hides several wall structure types built to tolerances of + or – 60mm. Despite the building structure MADE’s design team surveyed the building and worked through every difficulty in their thorough shop drawing process. The whole project was conducted in such a streamline manor that ensured we were on programme and not hindered.
We would not hesitate in referring MADE Contracting to any builder that is looking to work with only the best subcontractors.
Finally, I should add their site crew was amongst the best we have worked with. They were consultative, co-ordinated with LH / other trades, and have an aptitude second to none.
Thanks to all at MADE Contracting for a job well done and we look forward to working with you in the near future.
